Raghu gives away all his wealth in a great sacrifice, and the dynasty faces trials that test the limits of dharma and generosity.
Kalidasa pauses to provide a collective portrait of the monarchs of this line. He describes them as kings whose empires spanned to the ocean, whose fame reached the heavens, and who used their wealth only for the benefit of their subjects. They were warriors in youth, sages in old age, and eventually abandoned their bodies through yogic meditation.
