Ahura Mazda and the War Between Truth and the Lie
Overview

Ahura Mazda and the War Between Truth and the Lie

Three thousand years ago, on the plains of ancient Iran, a prophet named Zarathustra taught that the whole universe is a battlefield — the Wise Lord Ahura Mazda against Angra Mainyu the destroyer, truth against the Lie, and every human soul a soldier who must choose a side. His faith gave the world the bridge of judgment, heaven and hell, and a final victory of good over evil — ideas that flowed into Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. This is the whole story of the Zend-Avesta: the creation of the sixteen lands, Yima's ark against the deadly winters, the war with death itself, the hymns to fire and water, and the young French scholar who sailed to India as a common soldier to bring the lost book home.
